Interested in becoming a member of CBDR?
The application process has several stages:
The applicant fills out the form (except the medical page, which is marked) and then returns it to CBDR either by Email, post, or by dropping the application in the mail box at our building by the Richland airport. Please mark the envelope with your name and "team application".
When the application form is received by CBDR, it is sent to local law enforcement agencies for a background check.
After the background report is received, the applicant will be contacted by the Training Officer. At that time, either a screening interview will be set up or notification of non-approval will be made.
After successful completion of the interview, the applicant becomes a Trainee Member. The Trainee will be directed to provide the medical clearance form in the application packet and to complete a Washington State Department of Emergency Management (DEM) card at the Southeast Communication Center . When all the proper forms have been received, the Trainee will be able to participate in all training activities.
Due to the demanding and often sensitive nature of Columbia Basin Dive Rescue activities, efforts are made to ensure that candidates for membership are carefully screened. If you have any questions during this process, don't hesitate to call our office (946-2237) and leave a message to contact you or send an email to info@cbdr.org. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
